Hi! My name is Yasmine Kandil, welcome to my Film Production portfolio. In summer of 2022 I graduated from Bournemouth Film School with a BA in Film Production. Over the three years of my degree I specialised in Directing, Screenwriting and Producing.

However, my passion for film started long before university. I attended Sixth Form in Dubai where my love of movies lead to the selection of Media Studies, Photography and English Literature. Along the way I took part in filmmaking competitions, winning one with Sony and another with the Government of Dubai for an environmental campaign advert. 

 

When I was 18, my love of film crossed paths with my love of writing as I became a film journalist and critic. Now several years down the line, I have had the chance to interview some of my filmmaking inspirations and attend film festivals I only could have only dreamt of just a few years earlier. As my time at film school drew to a close, I was eager to get into the industry. Since graduating I have taken on dailies roles as a Location Marshal and Runner. Whilst this has been invaluable experience for me, I am keen to take on the role of a Production Assistant in order to begin working towards my current goal of being an Assistant Director.
